BRENTWOOD, TN – The local food truck industry saw a big win in Brentwood on Monday night, as the Brentwood City Commission unanimously approved permitting for mobile food vendors in the city’s commercial districts.

The two new ordinances will allow the trucks to operate independently in commercial areas, such as Brentwood’s Maryland Farms for the first time in almost three years.

“Under the current ordinances prior to tonight, the ability to have a food truck was really pretty limited to special events approved by the planning commission,” said Brentwood City Administrator Kirk Bednar. “For years, we have had requests from office buildings here that wanted to have a food truck come in and provide this lunch option for their workers, and we’ve had to put them off.”
