MARQUETTE, MI — How to pay city property taxes on a mobile food business? It’s likely to be an upcoming topic at a pair of meetings that discuss a food truck ordinance in the city.

Two upcoming meetings will be held by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to discuss a possible food-truck ordinance in the city of Marquette. The DDA will gather public input to assess the feasibility and functionality of an ordinance to satisfy both food truck vendors and ‘brick and mortar’ businesses.

After directly working with the DDA, the Marquette City Commission will reconvene on the topic at a March 9th meeting to review the DDA’s research and feedback from the community.

To gather community input on the topic, the DDA will be hosting two public input sessions on Tuesday, February 24th at the Marquette Commons at 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
