DAYTON, OH – Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is opening its doors to food trucks of the Miami Valley.

The base already has held several food truck rallies on Area B, which saw great support from the 27,000 employees, and Area A will host its first rally on Aug. 20, base officials announced Monday.

Following that, the base plans to hold regular rallies every other Wednesday starting Aug. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October.

The Dayton region has seen dozens of food trucks pop up in the last two years, but some retail areas have been reluctant to embrace them. The exposure at Wright-Patt could help incubate a food truck from idea to the point of needing to set up a brick-and-mortar location.
