OMAHA, NE – Food truck owners came to City Hall Tuesday thinking they would get an answer on the proposed food truck ordinance but City Council members say they will need at least two more weeks and owners say they are tired of waiting.

“We have wheels under our restaurant we can go anywhere we want we chose to start a business here,” said Kevin Wyatt of Big Green Cube.

Frustrations continue to grow as food truck owners wait for the city council to approve the proposed ordinance.

Food truck owners say the holdup could be due to some downtown property owners who feel threatened by food truck business.

“We’ve come to a really solid agreement that is not exactly what we wanted and not exactly what the city wanted but it’s a reasonable compromise and we feel like the whole process has been hijacked at the last hour,” Wyatt said.
