PEORIA, IL – Food trucks are getting a closer look in Peoria.  Tuesday night, Council unanimously approved plans to see how the restaurants on wheels fit in the city.

They’re getting a month to do so.

Some council members are worried about the trucks hurting brick and mortar businesses invested in downtown.

Others say they don’t want to hurt the entrepreneurial and progressive spirit in the city.

Over the next month, council members will investigate the potential impact on existing business; they’ll also gather input from the community, while figuring out how to regulate food trucks.

They’ll come back for a full vote at the end of March.
