We at Mobile Cuisine Magazine are very excited to provide our readers with new content daily, and North of the Border will help us do that by covering a segment of the mobile food industry that extends beyond the US border. In the first installment of North of the Border James introduces us to a Vancouver food cart named Fattrac Fusion. We look forward to our partnership with James and Vancouver Street Eats.

Fasttrac Fusion makes its home beside Langara station on the Skytrain’s Canada Line.

In an area with so many students and so few food options within walking distance, they’ve become a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Allen Yien partnered with Den Suzuki (a chef specializing in Japanese and French cuisine), upon winning his location in the city’s vendor lottery.

The menu consists of lamb and beef skewers, teriyaki and yakisoba noodle bowls, fish balls and rice cakes.  Plus one that I just knew I’d be trying, the teriyaki sub.

The teriyaki beef was plentiful and tasty, topped with mayonnaise and a hint of wasabi.

The chicken teriyaki rice bowl had liberal amounts of flavour and meat with the flavour carrying over nicely as it soaked into the rice…
