sioux falls food truckSIOUX FALLS, SD – There’s a relatively new trend in Sioux Falls that involves mobile restaurants. And since there are only a handful of them, they are all battling it out to fill your stomach up.

You may have seen them around town the past couple of years, as the trend of these restaurants on wheels make its way into the Sioux Empire. But the next time you find a food truck in a parking lot near you, be sure to grab a fork full of food.

“None of my food is neat. It’s all meant to be messy. It’s a fully involved affair,” said Jessica Saftrom, Owner of Bite Me Mobile Bistro.

You can find Saftrom and her red truck, with an eye catching yellow awning, parked right next to the Hobby Lobby off of 41st Street.

“It’s a lot of fun,” said Saftrom. “I love having fun with people and bringing them different meals every day.”

Saftrom said her meals are ‘comfort food with flair.’

“I do all the same foods you already know, I just add a little kick to them,” Saftrom said.

You’ve got roasted beef with a special ‘cow sauce’ that melts in your mouth when you eat it. And then there’s the classic BBQ pulled pork, and some nachos made with homemade chips.

“Everything I make is fresh, I don’t believe in doing anything that isn’t fresh,” Saftrom said. “And everything has got my hand in it, literally.”

This next food truck is where you can get your southern fill, with a South Dakota kick to it.

You can find Cedrick Donaway, and his entire family roasting up some mean pork at The Rib Shack, located on the 3700 block of North Cliff Avenue.

“It started out as a hobby, just a little something to do for the summer. And a way for the kids to have something to out and make some cash for the summer,” said Donaway.

Donaway said in his pulled pork, ribs and brisket; he adds his own special flair.
