While you can’t change Mother Nature, you can control how you run your food trucks in harsh winter weather. It seems that no matter where you are located this is going to be a pretty brutal winter. The good news is there are still ways to keep your food truck business rolling and survive winter.

Here are 3 tips on helping your food truck survive winter:

Be Proactive

The first of our tips to survive winter is being proactive. It is important to stay in tune with the weather conditions so that you can prepare. Prepare ahead of time with staff and ordering so that you are prepared for the worse. Get a head of the curve and think of all potential scenarios and make sure your food truck is well equipped.

Make it Worthwhile

Although the weather is awful, especially in the Northern states, people still need to eat. Make it worthwhile for them to stand in the cold and wait for their order. Offering free beverages, discounts, or even bounce back offers will make their haul worth it. Offer the discount through social media, email, and or text messaging. How good can an offer be if no one knows about it?

Stay Calm

Customers can pick up on a tense environment. We understand that snowy days can severely impact your business. However, the last thing you want is for customers to step up to your service window on bad weather days and feel uncomfortable.

Make sure you and your staff maintain a fun friendly environment because those that bare those winter conditions will come back on warm sunny days if you provide them with awesome service.
