Designed with food truck owners in mind the Sprinter is available in three lengths with a choice of two roof heights. The Sprinter competes in a class with the Chevrolet Express, Ford E-Series, GMC Savana and Nissan NV.

2012 Sprinter

New for 2012

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter enters the 2012 model year with no changes. The 2011 Sprinter underwent a big change following the split from the Chrysler Corporation; once sold at Dodge dealerships, the Sprinter is now sold and serviced at Mercedes-Benz stores. The BlueTEC diesel, still the lone engine choice for the Sprinter, is also unchanged but meets emissions requirements for all 50 states.

Exterior

The back doors open to the vehicle’s full height and swing open 270 degrees. One-touch, triple-flash turn signals and wide-angle mirrors are standard. A power sliding door is optional on both cargo and passenger models. Exterior features include:

  • Standard power windows, locks and integrated wide-angle mirrors
  • Standard 16-inch steel wheels
  • Optional 16-inch aluminum wheels
  • Standard sliding passenger-side door
  • Dual hinged doors in back with a 270-degree opening
  • Optional side doors (in place of sliding door)
  • Optional heated windshield and rain-sensing wipers

Interior

For food truck owners who will only use the front section for seating, have the option of two buckets or a three person bench seat. The cargo area is a blank slate for your own personal touches including cargo management systems such as shelves, floor rails, and sliding door partitions. Sprinters have a flat cargo floor and tapered rear-wheel housings. Interior features include:

  • Standard tilt/telescoping steering wheel
  • Standard CD player
  • Optional six-CD changer

Under the Hood

Sprinters come in 2500 (three-quarter-ton) and 3500 (one-ton) ratings.. Sprinters have an independent front suspension, rear leaf springs and power rack-and-pinion steering. Mechanical features include:

  • 188-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V-6 with 325 pounds-feet of torque
  • Five-speed automatic transmission
