The Germans proudly claim Oktoberfest, a raucous celebration of beer and brats, as theirs. But here in the Queen City, we’d like to ring in the fall with our own fun foodie festival: Trucktoberfest. Hop on board this Adventure for a ticket to our Olde Mecklenburg Beer & Foodtruck Festival, where we’ll sample Olde Meck’s finest beers, nosh on bites from a parade of food trucks, and dance away to the tunes of some of Carolina’s best local bands.

Head to the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery where our band of merrymakers will be on hand to help boost the festival mood. On arrival, we’ll grab a LivingSocial souvenir stadium cup, and fill it with a pint of Olde Meck draft beer of choice, then savor a flight of two-ounce pours to sample. With a second full pint in hand, we’ll mingle among the wide array of food trucks and enjoy one signature sample bite from each. Be sure to bring some extra cash to purchase additional delicious dishes, as well. We’ll eat up Pan Asian cuisine from Maki Taco; smoked barbecue bites fromOutdoor Feasts Catering; and hot, delicious sandwich bites provided by Clover Joe’s Sandwich Shoppe.

While we’re stuffing our bellies with enough eats to fill a, er, truck, we’ll bop our heads and boogie to the live music of Southern blues rockers the Jeff Gates Band, soulful rock from Burning Bright, and the fresh musical stylings ofs.o.stereo, all of whom will be playing throughout the day. The party continues with tailgating games and house beats spun by DJ Sean McClellan. It’s an event that’s as all-American as it gets—albeit with that added German sense of celebration.
