City police are investigating a shooting and the carjacking of a food truck near a West Palm Beach shopping plaza Friday morning.

The incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. next to the Publix Super Market in Paradise Plaza at North Haverhill and Roebuck roads. A man was shot by a male suspect and had his food truck stolen, according to Sgt. David Lefont, West Palm Beach police spokesman.

The victim was taken to a hospital with his condition unknown. Police have described the stolen vehicle as a blue 2002 Ford F250 food truck with the license plate GTPF71 and has “Elco’s Catering” written on the side.
