PHOENIX, AZ — Shamrock Foods Co. has a new foodservice warehouse that offers much more than milk and sour cream.

The 30,000-square-foot warehouse, which opens Thursday in a remodeled bowling alley at Indian School Road and Interstate 17, Phoenix, offers 7,000 products, many of them Arizona-made.

The store is geared to the food-service industry: food-truck operators, restaurants, coffee shops, caterers and others needing bulk goods such as church groups, clubs and event companies, Shamrock Foods Co.’s chief marketing officer Ann Ocana said.

But it’s also open to the public. Unlike other warehouse food stores, there is no membership fee.

The location, which is called Shamrock Foods Foodservice Warehouse, isn’t a grocery store, Ocana said.

It’s not designed for the everyday grocery shopper, she said. Items typically come in large sizes not needed by most home chefs, she said. For example, traditional sour cream will be sold in a 25-pound tub, she said.
