NEW ORLEANS, LA – During a grand opening celebration on the uptown campus, the Tulane University community got its first taste of Rouler, a fully equipped mobile kitchen serving New Orleans-style cuisine solely for meal plan subscribers.

According to Sodexo, Rouler is the first all-meal-plan food truck in the nation, and it is the second food truck to serve Tulane. Last year, Ironsides Waffles made its debut with an offering of sweet and savory topped waffles.

“Rouler allows us to serve students their New Orleans favorites — gumbo, po’boys, red beans — almost anywhere on campus,” says Tom Beckmann, Sodexo general manager. “Tulane students come from all 50 states and can’t get enough of the local cuisine. Rouler will be able to offer that to students throughout campus, not just in the main dining hall.”

Rouler’s menu includes local favorites such as shrimp and catfish po’boys, blackened chicken Caesar salad, red bean and fried chicken wraps, and chicken and sausage jambalaya. Rouler is staffed by six crew members under the leadership of Joi Monique.

Those hungry for a taste of New Orleans can find Rouler’s daily location via Tulane Dining Services’ social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“New Orleans is one of the world’s best food cities, and Rouler allows us to bring the best of our city’s cuisine to Tulane students throughout campus, wherever they might be,” says Beckmann.
