Eau Claire residents will soon find food trucks scattered through the streets of their city. The city council unanimously approved a food truck ordinance that opens up commercial streets to mobile food vendors. We applaud this ruling based on the simple fact that consumers are owed choices, and food trucks will now provide Eau Claire residents many more food options.

EAU CLAIRE, WI – More food trucks could be popping up along parks and commercial roads in Eau Claire, after the city council voted unanimously on an ordinance on mobile food trucks Tuesday.

Currently food trucks can only operate on private property and three parks.

The new policy adds all commercial roads to the list and Riverview, Pinehurst and Carson Parks.

Vendors would need to park in designated areas and pay a $250 license fee.
