TUSCALOOSA, AL – Students at two Tuscaloosa schools will get to experience what it’s like to run a food truck next week. The Cyprus Inn food truck and and Druid City Garden Project (DCGP) will team up for these hands-on learning events at Oakdale Elementary School and Tuscaloosa Magnet School, November 18th and 19th.

The 1st through 5th grades will harvest produce from their school garden and then cook a meal and also make a salad using Cypress Inn Lemon Honey Dressing.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Cypress Inn back in this highly successful partnership,” says Lindsay Turner, Druid City Garden Project’s executive director. “The food truck will give students in DCGP’s two newest schools, who have been working hard this semester to grow the vegetables in their new school gardens, an opportunity to cook and eat a healthy, delicious meal.”

This is the second year for the project.
