AUSTIN, TX – It may be a déjà vu moment for several Austin food trailers, as developers are forcing the trucks to leave a popular spot along South Congress Avenue and find a new place to park to make way for a new hotel development.

The owners of the property, SOCO ATX Developments, notified the food truck owners last week that they would have to pack up and ship out by March 2013 to clear the site for a new hotel, KXAN-TV reports.

Plans to construct a hotel on the property, located along South Congress Avenue between Monroe and Milton streets, failed three years ago and dozens of food trailers began to rent space shortly after.

In May, six food trucks parked at Congress Avenue and Second Street in downtown Austin were told to unhitch and move out for the construction of a new JW Marriott hotel.
