PITTSFIELD, MA – What do comedian Kevin James and Pittsfield’s popular food truck How We Roll now have in common?

They were both featured Friday morning in segments on “Live with Kelly & Michael.”

Kathy and Gabe Lloyd — the wife-husband team who run the How We Roll food truck in Pittsfield — are top 10 finalists in the show’s “Truckin’ Amazing Cook-Off” contest, which launched in May and continues through a series of public voting rounds throughout the summer.

Though they didn’t get to meet James, they did get to feed members of his entourage, as well as the show’s hosts.

“It’s probably the coolest thing we’ve ever done,” Kathy told The Eagle during a phone interview from New York City just after filming with the show.

“We were so goofy and had so much fun doing that. It was a treat,” she said.

How We Roll takes comfort food ingredients — macaroni and cheese, chicken and potatoes, spaghetti and meatballs, for example — and packs them into an egg roll wrapper. The cooks flash fry the rolls and serve them to customers swaddled in a paper towel.

Kathy said they entered the contest after a stay-at-home-mom friend of theirs saw a promotion about it on the show. They created the required 30-second video about How We Roll, and the food truck was vetted into a top 20 by the show’s production team. Their video was voted into the top 10 by viewers.

On Friday, the Lloyds walked television show hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan through their food-making process on the How We Roll truck — which, by the way, had a “Go, Pittsfield!” sign hanging inside.

Chosen by fan demand, they shared their recipe for a popular roll called “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!”

“I love saying that,” Ripa said during the segment.
