BOSTON, MA – Good news for food-truck fans in the Fenway: the neighborhood is slated to receive the trendy mobile eateries as part of Boston’s recently approved food truck initiative.

In a letter sent out to local property owners and businesses, the city said that 140 Fenway on Hemenway Street has been selected as a food truck site after a city survey, with the area chosen “for the opportunity it potentially presents to promote economic development and further activate the area.”

Clover Fast FoodRoxy’s Grilled CheeseStaff MealThe Cupcakory and Grilled Cheese Nation will be serving up food at the site, with no more than one truck operating at the location at one time and service hours set for 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

According to the notice, the food truck could place food trucks on streets as early as July, and the first round of permit will expire at the end of this year, giving the city’s Food Truck Committee time to evaluate for the future.

The food truck site, which is at the termination of Forsyth Street, is by the Forsyth Institute and Northeastern University and across Forsythe Way from the Museum of Fine Arts. The city’s letter, which was sent to property and business owners within 100 feet of the site, said consideration was given to existing businesses and pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
