COEUR D’ALENE, ID – A food truck owner in Coeur d’Alene is giving free food to law enforcement officers this week following the recent police killings around the country.

The owner of the ARBC Catering food truck, Ron Bjorklund, wrote on the side of his food truck, “Police: Free food this week. Pull me over.”

Local police officers told the owner that they cannot accept gratuities, but they can buy food and donate proceeds.

Bjorklund said that even if officers are not allowed to come by and get a free meal, he is encouraging officers to buy a burger and he’ll in turn donate that money.

Bjorkland called local police officers to tell them of his generosity last week, but got a little bit of a surprising response.

“I got back a few replies saying we’re not allowed to accept free things or reduced prices,” Bjorkland said.
