WINTHROP, ME — Police are trying to figure out who would trash a food truck that benefits veterans.

Owners and workers at a popular food truck on the beach in Winthrop were shocked last week to find that their truck had been destroyed by vandals.

All of its employees are actually volunteers, and all proceeds benefit veterans and their families through the American Legion.

Which is why the vandalism felt like a personal attack.

“What type of person does that?,” said owner John Brennan. “It’s heinous. It’s horrible.”

Disturbing and offensive messages were written in human feces on the food truck, saying, “f*** veterans you die.”

“It’s just wrong on so many levels,” said Brennan.

Trash was scattered all over the area, feces on the truck, and the electricity unplugged – spoiling $400 worth of food.
