Very interesting way for school districts to excite their young customers. Transform an old school bus into a food truck that will travel from school to school within the district. Not every school system is going to be able to staff up a truck like this and this will be a great way for independent food truck owners to offer their trucks to their local schools to help feed the children of their communities.

BELTON, TX – The Belton ISD plans to convert one of its 72-passenger buses into a food truck.

The bus will rotate between three middle schools, the high school and even the administration building so everyone in the district can enjoy the food.

Officials say the money for the food bus came from the cafeteria budget not the school district’s budget.

Five cafeteria workers will be assigned to the food bus along with a driver.

The conversion starts in July and the bus should be on the road in August.
