Peanut Butter is a staple on many food trucks around the country, not only is it a common ingredient in many Asian (Thai in particular) but its also a great way to add a creamy texture to a menu item. The standard peanut butter sold in stores is full of sugar, or when using all natural peanut butter products, have a lack of taste. Today is National Peanut Butter Day, so we felt it would be the perfect time to share a simple and easy peanut butter recipe that can be made in a short time and will allow truck owners to keep their products as natural as possible.
Homemade Peanut Butter
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Yield: 1 1/2 cups
Ingredients
- 15 ounces shelled and skinned roasted peanuts
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
- 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil
Directions
Place the peanuts, salt and honey into the bowl of a food processor. Process for 1 minute.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Place the lid back on and continue to process while slowly drizzling in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
Place the peanut butter in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
