Pairing food with drink together is one of the most common reasons for people to come together. Food festivals and tasting events also give artisan food makers and farmers an exciting marketplace to connect with new customers. Where I live in Southern California, the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year for the community. Tens of thousands of tourists come each year to participate in the event, sample food, listen to live music and of course drink wine.

In this article, I’ll help you brainstorm creative name ideas that will project mouth-watering imagery in the minds of potential guests. Here’s a hit-list of more than 400 examples you can use to promote an event like this

What Can You Serve At A Food Or Wine Tasting Event?

You can pretty much serve anything at a food or wine tasting event. The challenge here, though, is how you can craft a unique food or wine tasting experience that people won’t forget and will actually want to attend. So step one is always to select theme of food you want to serve. Then you can start working backward to select food samples to provide guests.

This will help you identify your ideal guests and narrow down your menu to their food preferences. Here are some brainstormed ideas on what you can serve.

  • Charcuterie – A cheese board is filled with finger foods like nuts, cheese, dried fruits, and meat. Put one of these in the room while you sample different wines so you can enjoy the event more without feeling lightheaded because of the liquor.
  • Hors d’Oeuvres –  While waiting for the main course, serve your guests with small bite items and cocktails to keep their tummies from rumbling. Whether it’s devil eggs, skewered food, or bread and pastry classics, people will stay delighted in the event.
  • Soup – Soup hydrates the mouth of your guest while they continuously taste dry foods. This is also a meal you can take a few sips of and understand the taste and flavor profile. It’s nutritious and flavorful, making it an ideal part of the menu.
  • Salads – Salads are another classic meal that doesn’t fill you up too much. It’s a light bowl of veggies that help with the digestion of guests. This might also serve as an appetizer and is extremely flexible since you can add an almost unlimited number of toppings and dressings.
  • Entrees – This is the main dish, the most awaited part of the full course meal. Ideally, you should serve your 4 main entrees. One caterer I spoke to for this pieces suggested tailoring the choices to guest taste preferences. It is also better to offer something seasonal so your menu will be fresh and price-friendly.
  • Beverages – The standard menu recommends you prepare 2 cold beverages and 2 hot beverages for your guest but it’s actually up to you. As long as you have something to quench their thirst, you’ll be fine.
  • Cocktails – Serve these spirited beverages with the dish they complement with to enhance the tasting experience of your guest. Remember: light drinks go with heavy food while light food goes with heavy drinks.

And there you have it! A creative event name is a steppingstone toward unlocking marketing opportunities through food festivals and tasting events. Remember, the more you promote and market the event in advance, the larger the audience you’ll attract. I hope this list has inspired you to organize the most unforgettable food or wine event. If one of the ideas worked for you, let me know the one you chose on social media.
