The results for our pizza food truck contest for 2019 are in. After auditing over 3,000 votes, we want to send out congratulations to Big Apple Pizza of Fort Wayne, IN. They have won our 2019 Pizza Food Truck Of The Year contest! Big Apple Pizza is a mobile pizzeria that specializes in, as their name suggests, “New York” style pizza, and their fans brought them this year’s title.
Big Apple Pizza
New York style pizza comes with a thin, crispy crust, with sauce and sprinkled with delicious, fresh toppings. The crust is thin enough to fold in half, which is the accepted way of eating a slice as you walk around the city.
You don’t often find this style everywhere in the Midwest, but real New York style pizza has found a home in Fort Wayne. Big Apple Pizza first opened it’s doors about five years ago when co-owners Chad Castator and Patrick O’Sullivan decided they’d eaten their last slice of deep dish. Since then, they have opened up a food truck to help them serve the city of Fort Wayne.
We’re thrilled for the Big Apple Pizza team. Keep an eye out for our future information where we’ll learn more about this pizza food truck business and the food they’ve developed that drove this food truck to the title. Congratulations!
