Dia de los Tacos: 2017 Food Truck Taco Of The Year

Dia de los Tacos

At one point point in his life, Marquette, MI resident Mike Walker had dreams of opening a restaurant, but it was a winding path and a love for one particular food item that led to the idea for Dia de los Tacos, Marquette’s own mobile taco truck. After spending time in Portland, Walker’s thoughts turned toward opening a food truck, instead of a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Based on his personal love of tacos he acquired when working and living near the Mexican Village district in Detroit, the choice for his concept was simple.

We’ll learn more about Dia de los Tacos and their award-winning tacos soon.  Congratulations to the Dia de los Tacos food truck team and their enthusiastic voters/diners!

Tried Dia de los Tacos for the first time when the truck was at the Marquette Farmers Market last summer and was really impressed by the tacos. Can't wait to try them again when I'm up in the UP again.
