The results for our vegan vegetarian food truck contest for 2017 are in. So we want to send out congratulations to Falacos of Houston, TX for winning the 2017 Vegan Vegetarian Food Truck Of The Year! Falacos is a place where people can always find delicious food that is safe and non-GMO, and their fans brought them this year’s title.

Falacos

Founders Courtney & Ben Weidner came up with their concept one night while experimenting with some falafel recipes and how it could be served. Ben put some falafel in a corn tortilla and said “it’s falafel, in a taco… it’s a FALACO.”

Falacos is a local food truck serving *real* food in your backyard. This truck covers Montgomery & North Harris counties in Texas. This vegan food truck sells tacos balls which are made of chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, and spices. The balls are fried in peanut oil, set in a corn tortilla with hummus, fresh vegetables, and sauce. They offer a variety of taco balls flavors and different sauces. Falacos began serving the Greater Houston area in the Spring of 2016.

We’re thrilled for Falacos founders Courtney & Ben Weidner and their team. Keep an eye out for our future profile where we’ll learn more about this Vegan food truck business and the food they developed that drove this food truck to the title.  Congratulations!
