The results for our vegan vegetarian food truck contest for 2019 are in. After auditing over 2,500 votes, we want to send out congratulations to Herbivorous Butcher of Minneapolis, MN for winning the 2019 Vegan Vegetarian Food Truck Of The Year! The Herbivorous Butcher, our back to back champs, brings consumers small-batch plant based meats that are always fresh, flavorful, and protein-rich, and their fans brought them this year’s title.
Herbivorous Butcher
The Herbivorous Butcher started organically. Sister and brother duo Aubry and Kale Walch have spent the last several years perfecting The Herbivorous Butcher’s deliciously deceiving meat-free meats.
A brother and sister, sister’s husband, and sister’s surrogate sister, all vegan or vegetarian; cooked and ate together all the time. They shared recipes, improving each other’s recipes, and talked about food literally all the time. During a brief pause in food-related conversation, Aubry blurted out “LET’S OPEN A VEGAN BUTCHER SHOP!” and everyone laughed and laughed and then, just as the laughter subsided, everyone realized it was a great idea. From that moment on they’ve been planning how they can fulfill that mission to deliver delicious tasting fresh vegan meats for a happier, healthier world.
All of their products provide optimum amounts of protein and B-vitamins that many meat alternatives lack, as well as modest levels of monounsaturated fats that help reduce cholesterol and satisfy your hunger so you can really feel good while feeling good about eating well.
