Kneaders Bakery & Cafe has expanded beyond its Utah roots and now has locations in several states across the United States. While the majority of Kneaders stores are still concentrated in Utah, the company has expanded its presence to other states as well. Kneaders Bakery & Cafe had over 60 locations spread across Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nevada, and Texas.

How did Kneaders Bakery & Cafe Get Started?

Kneaders Bakery & Café was founded more 25 years ago by Gary and Colleen Worthington with the goal of making quality fresh-baked breads more accessible to customers in Utah. The Worthingtons began their career in the sandwich industry as Subway franchisees. After retiring from Subway, they decided to open their own fast-casual concept that focused on fresh-baked goods.

Inspired by the simple, artisan breads they had encountered during their travels in Europe, they trained with professional bread masters from the San Francisco Baking Institute. The founders experimented with different levains (natural bread leavening) to find the perfect formula for the bread they wanted to create, a process that required thousands of practice loaves.

The first Kneaders store opened in 1997 in Orem, Utah. The company is still serving its original European artisan hearth bread, which is made in hearth stone ovens from Verona, Italy. Over time, they expanded their menu to include sandwiches, salads, and soups, as well as 42 hand-crafted pastries.

1. Earning Points: For every dollar you spend on qualifying purchases at Kneaders locations, you earn 10 points.
2. Using Points: Points can be used to get rewards in the Rewards Marketplace, which is accessible through the Kneaders App.
3. Tier Program: The amount you spend on qualifying purchases in a calendar year counts towards your tier status. When you spend $200 in a calendar year, you earn Gold status, and when you spend $600 in a calendar year, you achieve Platinum status. The status is valid for a full 12 months.
4. Exclusive Menus: Upon reaching Gold or Platinum status, you receive access to exclusive menus with special offers. These menus are only available for online purchase on the Kneaders App or order.kneaders.com.
