The results for our Asian food truck contest for 2017 are in. So we want to send out congratulations to Tuscon, Arizona based Curry Pot for winning Mobile Cuisine’s 2017 Asian Food Truck of the Year! After counting over 3,700 total votes submitted in the poll Curry Pot is our winner.

Curry Pot

The Curry Pot is a unique food truck that brings Tucson, AZ food truck fans a colorful array of curries inspired by Sri Lanka, an Indian Ocean island influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch, British, Indian, Arab, Malay and Moor culture. Amjaad Jhan is the owner of Curry Pot and a native of Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Although a relative newcomer to the industry, Jhan says he’s grateful for the reception he’s received so far.

“Without the support system, we wouldn’t have come to this level right now,” Jhan said. His wife, nine-year-old son, family, in-laws, and friends have all provided help and support. People within the industry have been crucial as well.

The Curry Pot awakens your senses to the aroma of coriander, cinnamon, peppers, cloves, nutmeg, and mace. Then tame the burn of curry with desserts sweetened by brown sugar and condensed milk. And finally their customers can embark on a culinary adventure with them as they explore what happens when fiery Sri Lankan curries meet Southwestern cuisine.

Congratulations to the Curry Pot and their enthusiastic voters/diners!
