The results for our food truck BBQ contest for 2019 are in. After auditing over 10,000 votes, we want to send out congratulations to Gotta Q of Cumberland, RI. They have retained their title and have become a three-peat champ by winning the 2019 Best Food Truck BBQ Of The Year! With 2 food trucks, 1 trailer, 2 brick & mortars & a killer catering biz all serving “Legit” authentic wood smoked BBQ, Gotta Q rallied their fans once again to take the title.

Serving their sweet cornbread, classic baby back ribs, and signature authentic applewood smoked pork, Gotta Q is your destination for delicious BBQ taste. Launched in 2014 by owner Michael Strout with the help of his wife Janet. Gotta Q BBQ Food Truck and Catering joined the many innovative cooks and small business owners caught up in the craze of mobile meals that quickly took over Providence city corners.
As far back as he can remember, Micheal Strout has always been a big fan of BBQ. When asked how Gotta Q got started, he describes the family parties and events hosted by friends who asked Strout to cater his home cooking. His impressive skill on the grill comes from years of practice and a desire to perfect the dishes he loves. Strout says, “I had always loved BBQ and wanted to try it for myself! We bought a vertical water smoker on sale one day way back when, and I’ve been learning all the tricks and techniques for smoking meats over the past 14 years or so.”
We’re thrilled for owner Micheal Strout and his team. Keep an eye out for where we’ll learn more about this food truck BBQ business and how he developed the BBQ that drove this food truck to the title three times in a row. Congratulations!
