What menu items have been discontinued at Red Lobster?

Before the global crisis of 2020, Red Lobster used to offer Unlimited Cheddar Bay Biscuits. The offer was basically an eat-all-you-can cheddar bay biscuit for every purchase of an entree. It has been unfortunate that the food joint decided to remove that feature and offered a limited free two pieces of said biscuits instead. If you wish to have more, you’ll have to purchase them by the dozen or half dozen. Fortunately, in my experience two of these biscuits is enough to satisfy my appetite. 

Other than the unlimited biscuits, there are no other known officially discontinued menu items at Red Lobster. Some locations may claim one item is “discontinued” when they actually mean “unavailable” due to supply chain challenges. 

An example would be the Rock Lobster Tail. Some locations may not have all the ingredients at a given moment hence customers not being able to order them. That doesn’t mean other locations don’t have them too. Unless an official announcement from the restaurant chain has been made, the menu item lives on.

The best way to save on every visit to Red Lobster is to join their rewards program called My Red Lobster Rewards. Some of the regular reward items you’ll find include the Chocolate Wave Cake or Vanilla Bean Cake from the dessert menu. Soups like the New England Clam chowder or sharable tasting plates are also frequently made available to members.

One of the distinct differences between the My Red Lobster Rewards loyalty programs and others is that you level up in status after hitting certain a points threshold by becoming a Gold or Platinum member. Becoming a Gold member is simple. All you need to do is fully complete your profile when singing up for the rewards program. Once you hit 300 points or $300 in annual spend to become a Platinum member, you’ll get unique benefits like unlimited table top games for free on the table and double points on all to-go orders.

Red Lobster does not have any company-wide policies on accepting AARP or senior discounts. And select locations offer student discounts at around 10% – 20% off when presented with a valid ID. You’ll want to call ahead before dining to see what offers are available.

This menu item offers a serving of tender Maine lobster tail, North American snow crab legs, and an option to choose between garlic shrimp scampi or Walt’s Favorite shrimp. Each dish comes with melted butter, lemon, cocktail sauce, and choice of two sides.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Red Lobster’s cheddar biscuits were so delicious that people can’t get enough of the ultimate cheddar bay biscuits offer the chain used to have with every purchase of any of their entrees. Eventually, they realized they needed to bank on its popularity and cut the offer to just two complementary biscuits and charge extra for additional orders.
