Unfortunately, not all menu items last forever. Here are some of the discontinued menu items at Tijuana Flats. 

Quesadilla, chips and salsa.

Fajita Shrimp Quesadilla: The Fajita Shrimp Quesadilla was a delicious dish that featured sautéed shrimp, poblano peppers, and onions, all wrapped up in a warm, cheesy tortilla. To top it all off, the dish was served with a generous dollop of guacamole and sour cream, along with a side of crispy tortilla chips and zesty salsa. Despite its many virtues, however, the Fajita Shrimp Quesadilla was unfortunately removed from the regular menu shortly after its introduction.

Philly Cheesesteak Flautas: Joining the ranks of the “Flat Outrageous” lineup, the Philly Cheesesteak Flautas boasted shaved sirloin steak, mozzarella cheese, grilled onions, and peppers, all served with a generous side of queso. This was a Tex-Mex twist on the iconic Philly sandwich. 

Jerk Chicken Street Taco: The “Reasons to Love This Jerk” campaign struck a chord with foodies everywhere. The Jerk Chicken Street Tacos consisted of crispy jerk chicken that is marinated in a blend of flavorful spices and slow-roasted to perfection. The chicken is then topped with a kick of MoreFire! hot sauce. This taco was part of a limited-time offer. I know I’m not alone in hoping for the return of this item.

The combination of flavors and textures is simply irresistible.  To add even more zing to the dish, a generous drizzle of garlic lime sauce is added on top, giving it a tangy and slightly spicy kick. To round out the meal, the Cheesy Steak Flautas are served with crispy chips and tangy salsa. 

Queso Blanco Carnitas Chimichanga: This mouthwatering dish is made with tender, juicy Carnitas-style pork, which is slow-cooked until it’s fall-apart tender and bursting with flavor. A couple of years back, Tijuana Flats added a secret menu for adventurous eaters out there. 

The Mexican Pizza: This pizza features a crispy and golden fried flour tortilla as its base, which provides the perfect crunch to complement the toppings. One of the best things about Mexican Pizza is that you can customize it to your liking. You can choose your favorite protein, whether it be seasoned ground beef, tender grilled chicken, or succulent shrimp.

The Double Stack Tacos: This dish is available in two different flavors: chicken or steak. No matter which one you choose, you’re in for a treat. The Double Stack tacos are made by spreading queso across a soft flour tortilla. The tortilla is then wrapped around a hard-shell taco that’s filled with a delectable blend of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeño, and sour cream. Among the other secret menu items on this list, I’m confident that this particular gem remains available at select locations.

3 Cheese Tacos: While it might no longer be a secret menu star, it’s definitely worth a mention. The 3 Cheese Tacos are a dynamic duo of lightly fried, crispy tacos nestled in a flour tortilla with a tantalizing trio of queso, cheddar, and jack cheese. Served Tijuana style, this delightful creation comes complete with a side of rice and beans.
