The iconic coffeehouse Tim Hortons is a Canadian restaurant chain famous for its freshly brewed coffees, warm-baked pastries, scrumptious donuts, and other fast food menu items. With more than 5,000 locations worldwide, “Timmies” is a powerhouse in its own right in the industry even if many coffee drinkers in the United States aren’t familiar with the brand.

Over the course of 58 years, the chain has grown the menu beyond doughnuts and coffee, gradually adding sandwiches, soups, and more sophisticated lattes. Below, I’ve compiled the most recent prices for each item on the Tim Hortons menu in 2023.

FAQs about the Tim Hortons Menu

What menu items have been discontinued at Tim Hortons?

You know when something you really love is taken away? They say you don’t really value something until after it’s gone. Unfortunately, each of these Tim Hortons menu offerings have been laid to rest. The question is, will Tim Hortons ever bring these items back?

There were several additional menu adjustments underway that we nearly missed because of Tim Hortons Canadian locations’ parting ways with Cold Stone Creamery, a U.S. international ice cream parlor/dairy chain. And in my opinion, each and every fan of Tim Hortons should be aware of this info.

The company claims that by parting ways with Cold Stone Creamery, it enables franchise owners to concentrate on their core business. However, Timmies only ended its ice cream sales and pulled the dairy brand from its Canadian locations, but they have kept their 2009-starting collaboration in American Tim Hortons locations.

As it struggles to expand in what is being described as a new era of increased competition and low growth for restaurant chains and retailers, Canada’s largest restaurant chain also disclosed that it closed 11 underperforming U.S. stores at the time they parted ways and reduced 24 items from the menu. They argued that having fewer regular menu items gives more room for new and seasonal products.

Okay, enough with the history. Here are the following beloved items that have been removed from the chain’s menu.

  1. Mixed Berry Smoothie – The fact that they felt like drinking heaven was all that really mattered, even though there was a remote possibility that they weren’t actually made with genuinely mixed berries.
  2. Chocolate And Blueberry Danish – Where have you gone, my danish? Remember the time when Tim Horton’s sold chocolate and blueberry danishes?
  3. Double Berry Muffin –  Yes, we can get blueberry and fruit explosion muffins, but what if we want twice the berries in a muffin? Uhm, sorry, we can no longer have that.
  4. Cold Stone Creamery – Even if it wasn’t the most original of their concepts, the ice cream was still fantastic. I mean, who wouldn’t love a one-stop shop where you can get your favorite pastries AND ice cream?
  5. Dutchie Timbits – Who actually likes having raisins in their Timbits? Perhaps this one was made for the grannies. But maybe, there were still some of us who also appreciated these in secret.
  6. Nanaimo Bars – Don’t you think that Tim Hortons, the most distinctly Canadian chain, and Nanaimo bars go together? Why, then did they need to be discontinued?
  7. Chocolate Sour Cream Glazed Donut – The most boring donut flavor was retained by Tim Hortons, but the chocolate variety was not? Are they insane?
  8. Bread Bowl – Your favorite stew and chili used to be served in a bread bowl. Dishes that you can eat are brilliant as well as earth-friendly, so Timmies, you really screwed on that one.
  9. Eclairs – When you were a child, do you recall how your Aunts and Uncles would treat you with sugary treats before returning you to your parents and how going to Tim Hortons was like going to a candy shop? They were excellent, those eclairs!
  10. Cake & Pie Displays – For this treat, you might have to go way back in time, but Timmies actually used to serve cakes and pies. As a child, you could have peered at them with pleasure as your parents, and you would go to Timmies. But hey, the good news is Timmies recently collaborated with the American restaurant chain The Cheesecake Factory!
  11. Mint-Chocolate Iced Capp – I think everyone can agree that mint and chocolate are the ideal pairings, and this refreshing beverage is perfect, especially on a hot summer day.
  12. Pecan Butter Tart – It seems like Tim Hortons enjoys discontinuing anything that isn’t a donut or a muffin. Why separate what belongs together when a butter tart and a superb cup of coffee are the best combinations?
  13. Gingerbread Man Cookie Characters – Tim Hortons actually believed that they would play the role of the Grinch and steal all of the gingerbread cookies. That includes the snowman, candy cane donut, gingerbread man, and everything else that makes people feel it’s Christmas. Tim Hortons, seriously?
  14. Birthday Cake Donuts – This is one birthday treat that we wish had lasted, despite the fact that a birthday cake isn’t eaten all year round.
  15. Chicken Fajita Wrap – You know how certain things seem so wonderful, but then they mysteriously evaporate, leaving you to wonder whether you were the only one who enjoyed them? This may be the case for one of my favorites, chicken fajita wrap. RIP to this treat.
  16. Walnut Crunch Doughnut – If your daily Tim Hortons fix includes a walnut crunch donut, you are gonna have to find a new favorite treat.
  17. Jelly filled Timbits and Donuts – These treats used to be Timmies’ top sellers, so I’m really blown away why they decided to discontinue these. They were like little tiny jelly donuts. So cute and so tasty.

Are there any discounts you can claim at Tim Hortons?

Breakfast at Tim Hortons.

If visiting Timmies has already become your daily routine, you’ll want to start collecting reward points by registering for their rewards program, Tim Hortons Rewards. This program lets you earn points for every purchase you make, which you can then utilize to get free food or drinks at the nearest Tim’s.

But how does this rewards program work? And how do you get started on accumulating points to get that free hash brown and iced coffee you’ve been craving, more importantly? Here, I share to you a step-by-step guide on earning those Tims Rewards.

1. Sign up using the Tim Hortons app or on the Tim Hortons Rewards website. Downloading the Tim Hortons app from the App Store or Google Play is the fastest way to begin using the Tim Hortons Rewards. On the app, simply click the icon in the top right corner to get to the “Sign In” page, where you can register for an account.

You can register on the Tim Hortons website as well, but if your card isn’t linked, you won’t receive the same weekly offers or birthday perks as on the Tims app.

2. Get a physical Tim Hortons rewards card. Through the Tim Hortons app, you won’t really need the collector card because they can easily scan your app. If you currently have one or if you decide you want to purchase one in-store, then you must link your physical card to your account either through the website or the app.

There are a few minor exceptions to this rule of course. For example, the purchase cost be at least $0.50 before tax and at least 30 minutes must have passed since your last purchase in order to qualify to receive your 10 Tims Rewards points.

4. Redeem your Tims Rewards. You must register as a user (on the website or the app) in order to redeem Tim Hortons Rewards and choose your reward category. What are the most popular menu items at Tim Hortons?

It can be hard to decide what to get when Tim Hortons offers so much variety. While everything in the menu is delicious, some stick out and appear to be favorites around the world. The coffee brews and the baked products are what everyone normally gravitates toward, but the chain also does offer some amazing savory items too.

Without further ado, here are the most popular Tim Hortons menu options based on customer feedback and firsthand knowledge.

  1. Timbits. These little guys are bite-sized versions of Timmies traditional donuts that come in many different flavors, including blueberry, strawberry, chocolate-glazed, old-fashioned plain, and many more. Your tiny donut cravings are met by boxes that range from 10 packs to 40 packs.
  2. Iced Capp. This frozen coffee beverage called The Iced Capp is made with whole milk, Tim Horton’s very own coffee brew, caramel, vanilla, and brown sugar. You can enjoy this drink with your fave Tims breakfast item or on its own for a fantastic daily pick-me-up.
  3. Mac and Cheese. Perfect to satisfy your savory cravings, Tim Hortons offers Mac and Cheese cups on their menu. You can grab a bowl of this creamy bliss that rivals any homemade mac and cheese for only $3.99. After just one bite, this cheesy bowl will certainly become your go-to Tim’s meal!
  4. Iced Coffee. At Tim Hortons, Iced Coffee is an ultimate customer fave. The nicest part about this is that you may choose the dairy (2% milk, coconut milk, or almond milk) or sweetener of your preference  (stevia, light agave syrup or splenda).
  5. Grilled Cheese. There are two menu items Tim Hortons is just best at: coffee and cheese. Whether you need this tasty grilled cheese for a lunch break or an after-work snack, it is always warm, fresh, and ready to go. It’s essentially the ideal sandwich because it’s made with American cheese on multigrain bread.
  6. Muffins. The muffins you enjoy for breakfast or even a late-night snack are available at Tim Hortons. You will never go wrong ordering one of these desserts, whether you opt for the fruit explosion, chocolate chips, or blueberry flavor. The bottoms of the muffins are always fluffy and spongy, while the tops are always the exact amount of firm.
  7. Cinnamon Rolls. This pastry treat, which is available in two flavors (frosted or glazed), will truly delight your palate. The roll is expertly baked into the twists, and the sugar on top is just the ideal quantity to go with the whole thing. To get the best experience, keep in mind to get it warmed up in the oven.
  8. Chicken Noodle Soup. Tim Hortons’ chicken noodle soup, another traditional dish, will surely make you feel at home. This soup is flavorful and always prepared to the perfect temp. By also including a packet of saltine crackers, the entire culinary experience is achieved.
  9. Pretzel Bagels. This pretzel bagel is delicious whether it is toasted or not, and it has just the perfect amount of salt on top. Also, you have the option of ordering it plain, with cream cheese, or as the bread for any of the sandwiches on the Tim Hortons menu.
  10. Homestyle Oatmeal. I think anyone can agree that oatmeal is the ultimate comfort food and a classic breakfast favorite. The texture and flavor of this oatmeal are perfect, thanks to Tim Hortons. This fiber-rich treat, which is available in mixed berry and maple flavors, surely warms your tummy to the core.

Is there a secret menu at Tim Hortons?

Tim Hortons coffee

Tim Hortons exceptional blend of coffee is no secret.

Did you know that several Tim Hortons secret menu options are available? And these hacks can give your coffee or snack a slightly unique flavor without going overboard. Without further ado, here they are.

  1. Christmas White Hot Chocolate. Not just during the Christmas season can you enjoy the flavors of chocolate and peppermint combined. At any time of the year, request a white hot chocolate with a peppermint tea bag as a festive treat.
  2. Autumn Hot Chocolate. You’ll be daydreaming of chilly nights and autumnal foliage after trying this delicious drink. Just request for a White Hot Chocolate that includes a Pumpkin Spice tea bag. If you want to, you can also add a shot of espresso.
  3. Raspberry Iced Chocolate. This drink involves some of your own handy work to make, but it is absolutely worth the try. Get a white hot chocolate, a cup of ice, and three pumps of raspberry syrup. To make this tasty iced drink, just pour the combination of hot chocolate and syrup over your ice.
  4. Potato Wedge Farmer’s Wrap. You can substitute potato wedges for the hashbrowns if you’re ordering this for any other meal for more potato goodness.
  5. Chocolate Raspberry Iced Capp. Okay, so most of you already know that adding chocolate milk to an iced capp will give it more flavor, but adding a raspberry shot definitely elevates the beverage by providing a hint of delectable fruity taste.
  6. Apple Pie Hot Chocolate. There’s just something irresistible about a beverage that makes us think of a piece of apple pie. For this secret menu, request a white hot chocolate, an apple cinnamon tea bag, and one pump of caramel syrup.
  7. Ultimate Grilled Cheese. If grilled cheese is your go-to Tim Hortons meal, you should start modifying it asap! The next time you visit Timmies, build your very own ultimate grilled cheese sandwich by adding an egg, onions, bacon, tomatoes, and more.
  8. Iced Nutella. Do you eat Nutella straight out of the jar just because? If Nutella is one of your favorite spreads, then you should definitely try this. You can order an Iced Capp and request that they add some hazelnut-flavored syrup. After that, you may never wanna go back to the plain and regular Iced Capp ever again.

Are there any menu items for specialty diets?

Looking for a quick, fairly nutritious lunch to eat while running errands, picking up the kids, or taking a break from work? Finding fast food that is loaded with vegetables and protein is not always simple. Knowing how to order wisely requires some know-how, and I’ve found that at Tim’s, customization is the key to creating healthier meals.

Since everything is prepared from scratch, you have the freedom to add more tomato, forgo the bacon, or choose cheddar cheese in place of processed cheese to increase the nutritional value of your meals. Here’s how to use the menu to create your own reasonably healthy choices.

  1. Healthy Timmies Sandwich (378 calories). A low-sodium sandwich is almost impossible to make at Tim’s. However customization can be helpful. To reduce 250 mg of sodium from the original sandwich, choose just turkey on your club sandwich rather than turkey and bacon. Try the honey mustard sauce and double the lettuce and tomato.
  2. Tim’s Chicken Garden Salad (229 calories). The “add chicken” alternative in Tim’s garden salad allows you to top your lettuce, tomato, and cucumber with additional high-quality protein. Plus, do not forget the healthy balsamic vinaigrette!
  3. Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothie w/ Greek Yogurt (140 Calories). This smoothie is a fantastic summer treat because it is loaded with fruity goodness and has nutritious calcium from Greek yogurt. Although this beverage far outperforms frozen lemonade, it is not advised to consume it frequently due to its high added sugar content. Nevertheless, it would still be regarded as one of Tim’s healthier menu options.
  4. Oatmeal (210 Calories). The Tim Hortons oatmeal is perfect for you if you like something sweet but also healthy to start your day. Because it contains oats, which are thought to have many health advantages, it is a far healthier choice for breakfast than a doughnut or other Timmie’s pastry items.
  5. Dairy-free Iced Capp. If ordered with a dairy-free milk base (you can choose between almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk), Iced Capp can also be enjoyed by dairy-free and vegan customers.

Who is the target audience of this restaurant’s menu?

The business people, working adults, families, and students coming from the lower and middle classes are Tim Hortons’ primary target groups. Also, I’d say pretty much anyone in Canada who enjoys a quality cup of coffee fits into the target market. The yogurt products appeal to young people, coffee to seniors, and donuts to middle-class and moderate-income consumers.
